"Hunger Games" or pajama party? Woody Harrelson mashed up the two at a Monday photo call for "Mockingjay — Part 2" when he showed up wearing socks and what appeared to be really comfy pajamas that would surely send Effie Trinket straight for the bar cart.
The actor, who may or may not have been channeling his character Haymitch Abernathy's irreverence, smiled widely for French photographers during the Paris photo call in plaid pants, a long-sleeved T-shirt and graphic socks — just because he can. Fashion capital, be damned!
Harrelson, 54, also posed for more photos with his well-heeled costars Josh Hutcherson, Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and director Francis Lawrence.
After much ado was made about his laid-back look, the two-time Oscar nominee responded in a statement to the Los Angeles Times on Monday, saying: "Hippie motto: Peace, love, and comfort."
A rep for the actor also insisted that his comfy pants were not pajamas.
Thankfully, the "True Detective" star cleaned up pretty nicely for the premiere at the Grand Rex later that evening and opted for a gray suit paired with a striped dress shirt.
The cast and crew, including costars Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore and Natalie Dormer, are in the throes of promoting the final installment in the dystopian book-to-film franchise. The international press tour kicked off in Berlin last Wednesday, and the stars hit the red carpet again in London on Thursday, where they were joined by Harrelson. (That's also where Lawrence planted that accidental kiss heard 'round the world on Dormer.)
Lawrence & Co. will make their way Nov. 16 to the City of Angels, where they'll walk the red carpet at the Microsoft Theater in downtown L.A.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2" hits theaters Nov. 20.
