Baby Groot is adorable in the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ teaser image

Principal photography for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” has begun, and to mark the occasion, Marvel has released a teaser image for the film. And it looks like Groot is back on his own two feet!

The image shows baby Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) standing in all his tiny, adorable glory on Drax’s (Dave Bautista) shoulder. Which means sometime since the last time fans saw baby Groot and his secret dance moves, he’s grown strong enough to leave his plant pot and presumably has gotten over hiding his sentience and ability to move from Drax. And look at the way he’s holding on to Drax’s ear for support. It’s almost too much cuteness in one image. Almost.

Joining Groot and Drax in the image are the rest of the Guardians: Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper). See the full image below.

“Guardians 2” will also see the return of Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, and Sean Gunn as Kraglin. Additionally, the film will feature new cast members Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan and Kurt Russell.

Written and directed by James Gunn, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is scheduled to hit theaters May 5, 2017. Hopefully fans will not have to wait as long to find out whether Diesel will match Groot’s voice to his new appearance.
