The collection of Elizabeth Taylor

Following a world tour, the Christie’s collection of more than 2,000 pieces of Elizabeth Taylor memorabilia is now on view in New York. The show serves as a preview to an upcoming four-day auction of the late actress’ prized possessions, starting on Dec. 13. Richard Burton gave her perhaps the most historic gem of the collection -- La Peregrina (above), a large, 16th century pear-shaped pearl that was once owned by King Philip II of Spain.
