Guillermo Gómez-Peña The U.S.-Mexico border has become such a political, cultural and literal hot zone that its existence has generated metaphorical and meaningful exploration for artists, writers and performance artists like Guillermo Gómez-Peña. In his new solo performance, Gómez-Peña grapples with the end of the Bush era and lays out the challenges facing Obama. He also denounces anti-immigration hysteria and attacks the controversial construction of the border wall, its symbolism tied up with Minutemen, three-ply fences, globalization and transnational identities. Jane Hirshfield & Sean Carroll The poet and the physicist discuss the intersection between art and science. Neil Finn Finn has carved out a reputation as a songwriter’s songwriter, one who has crafted some of the catchiest pop-rock songs of the last quarter-century with Crowded House and on his own.
