John Mayer and Katy Perry: Heating up after another date night?

While he’s softer, calmer and still tender in the throat, some things about John Mayer will never change. Like his career-long attraction to famous females.

The latest candidate: the very single Katy Perry, whom Mayer was rumored to be dating about a month ago. A Wednesday outing brought photographic proof that the two are not only spending time together, but seem pretty sweet on each other.

Starting at popular date spot Pace, a dreamy little eatery nestled in L.A.’s Laurel Canyon with sweeping views of the city, Mayer and Perry enjoyed a meal then traveled down the hill to Sunset Boulevard’s Chateau Marmont.

Mayer, in his military-green uniform jacket, and Perry, looking demure in a sleeveless embroidered top, left the hotel together. Departing in his car, the two were all smiles and sideways glances as paparazzi assailed them in the valet line.

It all started as a pizza date at the end of June, says the UK’s Daily Mail, followed up by a meeting at West Hollywood’s Soho House on July 19. Wednesday’s adventure would certainly raise the thermometer on the pair, if you asked us.

Mayer has a long roster of former lady friends, from Jennifer Aniston to Taylor Swift to Minka Kelly. Perry was recently divorced from British funnyman Russell Brand.
