Wilco at the Hollywood Bowl

After making the leap from alt-country experimenters to pop deconstructionists with the landmark “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot” in 2002, Wilco could’ve rested on their laurels blasting past hits “on the landing in the summer” for years. Instead bandleader Jeff Tweedy kept moving forward over albums that found the band further redefining its sound with jagged structures and breezy ‘70s rock leading up to last year’s bold album, “The Whole Love.” Stretching into new territory with songs such as the sprawling folk of “One Sunday Morning (Song for Jane Smiley’s Boyfriend)” and the noise-rocking “Art of Almost,” Wilco is one of the tightest yet adventurous live bands working today, aided by L.A.’s own Nels Cline on guitar.
