Justin Timberlake talks 20/20 decision to marry Jessica Biel

Justin Timberlake had Ellen DeGegeneres’ in-studio audience gushing over his love for wife Jessica Biel.

The actor-singer appeared on Thursday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to promote his album “The 20/20 Experience,” but DeGeneres aptly had him talking about wedded bliss instead.

The couple married in Italy in October 2012 and DeGeneres reminded him that Biel said her favorite thing about marriage was being able to say the phrase “my husband.” This prompted the host to ask her guest the same thing. His answer: Making the right decision to marry his best friend.

“Every once in a while I can catch a glimpse of her when she doesn’t see me looking and I have this moment when I’m like, ‘If you never make a good decision, if you only make bad decisions for the rest of your life, you made one really good decision,’” he said. “It’s nice to marry your friend, it’s nice to marry your best friend. It suits me.”

Cue the waterworks! Especially since awww-inducing candid wedding photos simultaneously played in the background during the interview.

DeGeneres, who fittingly introduced JT during a game of “what’s in the box,” also gifted him with a super-sized framed photo of him gazing closely into her eyes from a previous appearance on the show. He plans to mount it over his bed.

Last week, the former ‘N Sync crooner divulged another detail about his big day: That pal Jimmy Fallon heckled his wedding toast. He was also named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people.

As if the audience wasn’t quaking enough, the Emmy-winning “SNL” host also performed his hit single “Mirrors” and “Pusher Love Girl” from the first half of his album, which was released last month. He plans to release the second half in the fall.

“This album for me has been a totally different experience, no pun intended, it came out of nowhere about a year ago,” Timberlake said of his process. “I just called [Timbaland] up and said, ‘I think we should go in and do maybe a mix tape or an EP and just put it out.’

“And 20 days later, we spent a month, I said we’re going to take the weekends off because we’re older now and we can’t go like we used to. So we spent 20 days and we came up with 20-something songs.”

So is that where all the eyesight-visual references came from? Not quite.

“It’s really just was because we did 20 songs,” he told DeGeneres. “I wish it was cooler than that. I wish I had that idea first.”

Curse that hindsight and its perfect observations...
