Sports Illustrated swimsuit models hit Letterman show for Top 10

The annual Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition of David Letterman’s Top 10 went off without a hitch Monday night — despite the big hitch that had happened several days before, as the much-anticipated cover of the magazine was leaked online ahead of what’s usually a big reveal on Letterman’s show.

“Normally they would all be here and they would not know which one of them had been selected for the cover,” the host said of the 10 beautiful women lined up on his stage Monday night. “But thanks to the Chinese hackers, everybody knows. You all know, don’t you? But it’s still fun, isn’t it?

More fun — or at least more heat — than two-time cover girl Kate Upton had on her shoot in Antarctica (the mag this year features swimsuits on all seven continents).

In a profile on the SI website, Upton said she could shoot only 10 to 20 frames at a time because of the brutal cold in the breathtaking environment, and that as soon as she’d had enough, folks on site would rush in with blankets and even a sleeping bag-style onesie to help her brace against the cold. She also discussed the aftermath of last year’s cover experience.

“I didn’t expect what came after the cover. If I was able to go back in time and talk to myself, I would’ve set up a little warning, what was coming after the cover. ‘Catch up on your sleep!’”

Looks as if her repeat performance afforded her just that chance.
