Quick Takes: Injury on ‘NCIS: LA’ set

A camera operator on “NCIS: Los Angeles” has been hospitalized after sustaining an injury during filming of the CBS television show.

The accident occurred during a stunt scene being filmed at Burbank’s Bob Hope Airport, said a person close to the production, which stars Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J. The victim, who has not been identified, remains hospitalized, said the source, who was not authorized to discuss the incident.

A spokeswoman for CBS declined to comment.

Earlier this month, a helicopter pilot, cameraman and crew member were killed in a helicopter crash in Acton during the filming of a reality series for Discovery Channel, the worst film-set accident in California in three decades. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.

And in September, a diver drowned in a water tank in Acton while preparing a scene for the Walt Disney Studios movie “The Lone Ranger” starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer. Cal-OSHA is still investigating the incident.

Justin, Jay-Z at the Rose Bowl

Details of the previously reported summer tour pairing Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z have been unveiled, with a dozen stops across North America beginning July 17 in Toronto and including a July 28 performance at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

Their Legends of the Summer Tour also includes dates in San Francisco; New York; Chicago; Detroit; Baltimore; Boston; Philadelphia and Miami.

Pop’s new BFFs recently performed together on the Grammy Awards, and Timberlake is slated to return to NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” on March 9 as host and musical guest. He’s also down to make a week’s worth of appearances on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” from March 11 to 15, the first time any guest will have been on the show five nights straight.

Tickets to most dates on the Legends of Summer Tour go on sale Thursday. Timberlake’s new album, “The 20/20 Experience,” is scheduled for release on March 19.

Fox, Bay and Ninja Turtles

Despite their rocky history, actress Megan Fox and director Michael Bay are reuniting for the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” remake.

The director took to his website Thursday night to announce the news: “TMNT: We Are Bringing Megan Fox Back Into the Family”

Bay and Fox famously clashed while working on the first two “Transformers” movies. At one point during an interview with a British magazine, Fox compared her director to Hitler. Bay lashed back with some tart words of his own, questioning Fox’s work ethic: “I’m sorry, Megan.... I’m sorry that I’m making you show up on time.”

Details are scarce about the remake featuring the four humanoid turtles boasting Renaissance-era names — Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael — as they navigate New York City’s sewer system to fight evil under the guidance of Splinter, a mutant rat trained in ninjutsu.

Global audience for ‘Audience’

Helen Mirren’s big return to the role of Queen Elizabeth II in the new play “The Audience,” by Peter Morgan, now will be a global event. Fans around the world will be able to experience the London stage production when it is broadcast to cinemas this summer as part of the National Theatre Live series.

“The Audience,” which has already begun performances at the Gielgud Theatre on London’s West End, will be broadcast starting June 13. Movie times will vary by time zone, and there will be encore broadcasts throughout the summer.

Participating theaters in the Los Angeles area include the Hollywood Chinese 6 theaters at Hollywood & Highland; the Downtown Independent; and the L.A. Theatre Works at UCLA’s James Bridges Theater.

“The Audience” follows Queen Elizabeth II during her meetings with various prime ministers, from Winston Churchill to David Cameron. The stage production is directed by Oscar-nominated Stephen Daldry.

Mirren won an Academy Award for playing the British monarch in the 2006 movie “The Queen,” which was also scripted by Morgan.
