Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson are getting the band — or rather, the a cappella group — back together. The two “Pitch Perfect” stars have signed on to reprise their roles as members of the Barden Bellas in the sequel “Pitch Perfect 2,” Universal Pictures announced Thursday.

Last week, the studio announced that Elizabeth Banks will make her directorial debut on the sequel, which is being written by “Pitch Perfect” scribe Kay Cannon.

In the original 2012 musical comedy, Kendrick played a college freshman and aspiring music producer who reluctantly joined a female singing group and helped to revamp its old-school approach. Wilson played her self-assured comrade Fat Amy.

The film was a sleeper hit, grossing $65 million domestically and more than $115 million worldwide on a modest $17-million budget. It was one of the top-performing DVD and VOD titles in 2013 and scored a top 10 Billboard single with “Cups” nearly a year after the film opened in theaters.

“Pitch Perfect 2” is expected in 2015, which should come as aca-awesome news to fans of the original.
