No Doubt teams with Target for exclusive deluxe album

No Doubt’s reunion album, “Push and Shove,” is still four weeks from hitting stores, but the Anaheim band is further teasing fans by announcing an expanded edition of the disc exclusive to Target.

The big box retailer will offer a deluxe edition of the disc -- No Doubt’s first studio album in 11 years -- that adds an eight-track CD, including five exclusive tracks. The move echoes the 2009 release of Pearl Jam’s “Backspacer,” which included concert downloads exclusive to Target.

No Doubt’s bonuses for Target shoppers include its cover of Adam and the Ants’ 1981 single “Stand and Deliver” (available for the very first time commercially), two acoustic tracks in “Looking Hot Acoustic -- Santa Monica Sessions” and “Easy Acoustic -- Santa Monica Sessions” and two remixed tracks, “One More Summer (Jonas Quant Remix)” and “Push and Shove (Anthony Gorry Remix).”

“We can’t wait for everyone to hear our new music,” bassist Tony Kanal said in a statement. “It’s been a labor of love that we’re so proud of.”

Ahead of the album, No Doubt will perform a live set during the 2012 NFL season kickoff game Sept. 5, and the band is one of many headliners tapped for the 2012 I Heart Radio Festival in Las Vegas on Sept. 21 and 22.

“Push and Shove” is scheduled for release Sept. 25.
