M. Ward: Pop music

Though somewhat lost in the recent pop cultural rise of Zooey Deschanel and her folk-pop side-project She & Him, the “him” of that equation, M. Ward, has long been a notable singer-songwriter in his own right. Also part of the indie semi-supergroup Monsters of Folk, Ward performs in advance of the spring release of “A Wasteland Companion,” his first new album since 2009. Though this show will provide ample showcase for Ward’s uniquely intricate, raspy-voiced storytelling, odds are “She” could swing by and join in as well.
