B.B. King calls off tour after being diagnosed with dehydration
B.B. King is off the road, at least for now.
According to a post on his official website, the hard-touring bluesman, 89, canceled eight shows on his current performance schedule due to health troubles.
King “fell ill” during a performance Friday night at the House of Blues in Chicago, after which he was “immediately evaluated by a doctor and diagnosed with dehydration and ... exhaustion,” the post said.
As a result, he called off concerts including a planned Oct. 13 stop at his namesake blues club in New York.
“Mr. King is back home and feeling better,” his website added early Monday.
The singer-guitarist’s most recent studio album, “One Kind Favor,” came out in 2008.
