The most unusual guest this Sunday morning?

Former NBA star Dennis Rodman, who talks to George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “This Week.”

Rodman will talk about his visit with North Korea leader Kim Jong Un.

The headline from Rodman: The North Korean leader “wants Obama to do one thing: Call him. He said, ‘If you can, Dennis – I don’t want [to] do war. I don’t want to do war.’ He said that to me.”

Rodman says he suggested diplomatic moves to Kim. “[Kim] loves basketball. And I said the same thing, I said, ‘Obama loves basketball.’ Let’s start there,” Rodman tells Stephanopoulos.

The Rodman-Kim visit was spoofed on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend.

On “This Week,” Rodman defends his high praise for Kim, such as calling the North Korean “awesome.”

“I’m not apologiz[ing] for him,” Rodman tells “This Week.” “He’s a good guy to me. Guess what? He’s my friend. I don’t condone what he does … [but] as a person to person – he’s my friend.”

Rodman’s “This Week” appearance comes on the same day that he headlines another show. He is one of the contestants on “The Celebrity Apprentice,” which starts a new season at 9 p.m. Sunday on NBC.
