Judge Judy, TV’s most popular judge, is getting ready to hold court after hours.

The no-nonsense judge will be the star of “Judge Judy Primetime,” a special airing May 20 on CBS that will include new cases and examine how Judge Judith Sheindlin transitioned from New York Family Court judge to “Judge Judy.”

The special will also include excerpts from a 1993 “60 Minutes” profile of Sheindlin that led to her being discovered by Hollywood, as well as an updated 2003 story when the newsmagazine revisited the judge.

“Judge Judy” has been the top-rated series in first-run syndication for the last three years and the No. 1 series in daytime for four consecutive years.
