Mary Lynn Rajskub will be back as Chloe for ‘24’ miniseries

We all know Jack Bauer is coming back to Fox for another day of tension and thrills in “24: Live Another Day,” but the network announced Thursday another familiar face: Mary Lynn Rajskub.

Rajskub, who played CTU analyst Chloe O’Brian, was one of the few people close to Bauer to survive multiple seasons and through the end of the series. In fact, Rajskub was in more episodes than anyone except series star Kiefer Sutherland. Now she’s back for the miniseries, which is expected to compress the traditional events of a “24”-style day into 12 episodes.

Fox made the announcement at the network’s TCA presentation on Thursday. The miniseries is being spearheaded by Howard Gordon, who was showrunner for the series through its final seasons and is now an executive producer of “Homeland.”

In a statement, Rajskub said, “I am thrilled to be working with Howard and the writers again -- and, of course, Kiefer! There’s a lot more room to grow in my character... I’m going to start sharpening my computer skills now!”

The writers are currently working on scripts for the miniseries, which is expected to debut on Fox in early 2014.
