‘Sesame Street’ parodies ‘House of Cards’

Share

One thing parents of preschoolers know for sure is that “Sesame Street” loves to parody shows the parents love. And they did it again on Monday with “House of Bricks.”

Netflix is poised to release the third season of “House of Cards” on Friday, but since the little ones would surely be alternately bored and terrified with the exploits of ruthless politician Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), “Sesame Street” gave them “House of Bricks.”

In “House of Bricks,” Frank Underwolf really wants to get into the White Brick House, occupied by a little pig. But to get there, he has to work his way through two other houses of pigs: one of straw and the other of sticks.

Fans of the Netflix series will especially appreciate the little touches, such as the wolf’s ring that echoes Frank Underwood’s Citadel alumni ring.

The visualization of text messages, a “House of Cards” staple, is also nicely parodied.

Though if you think you know how the story goes, pay close attention to the end. Just like the real “House of Cards,” this one has quite a twist at the end.

But don’t worry. No one gets pushed in front of a subway in this one.
