Zooey Deschanel covers Marie Claire; One Direction on GQ U.K.

Zooey Deschanel, on the cover of September’s Marie Claire, talks about surviving middle school and awkward adolescence and about how hurtful online comments can get, even for an adult. It has caused her to help start a website, HelloGiggles.com, that’s aimed at teaching young women and girls to overcome negativity and be creative. [Marie Claire]

And negative commenters were out in force when British GQ published five different covers showing members of hot band One Direction. Fans got upset at what they felt were unflattering cover lines about some of the band members and unleashed a volley of threatening tweets aimed at the magazine staff. [WWD]
