Rita Ora is the new face of Madonna’s Material Girl label

Singer Rita Ora will be the new face of Madonna and her daughter Lourdes “Lola” Ciccone Leon’s exclusive-to-Macy’s Material Girl line, the brand announced Wednesday.

Ora will appear in the junior lifestyle brand’s fall 2013 advertising campaign, which will be unveiled in July, according to the announcement from Iconix Brand Group.

The announcement also included the following comment form the mother-daughter duo (we’re assuming they said this in unison): “Rita is a talented beauty but what really drew us to her is the confidence she oozes through her music and her unique sense of style. On stage or off, in photos or on the street -- she’s a magnet! This is what the Material Girl brand is all about!”

The announcement also included this puzzling statement: “Contrary to previous reports, Madonna and Rita met for the first time on Saturday, June 1 at the ‘Sound For Change’ concert at London’s Twickenham Stadium.”

Past ad campaigns have featured Kelly Osbourne and Taylor Momsen.

Sold only at Macy’s in the U.S., the Material Girl label sells at the Bay in Canada, Europe and Australia.
