French luxury children's label Catimini opens in Beverly Hills

French luxury children's label Catimini plans to celebrate the grand opening of its new Beverly Hills boutique with a family-friendly event from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Kids can enjoy a balloon artist, coloring station, popcorn and juice while adults sip champagne, munch on snacks and, of course, shop.

The two-level store at 9511 S. Santa Monica  Blvd. contains clothing, accessories and shoes for boys and girls from newborn to around age 14.

Regular store hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

George Kotsiopoulos of E!'s "Fashion Police" is scheduled to meet the public from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday at the Grove, 189 The Grove Drive, Los Angeles. Attendees will have a chance to be seen on the network's upcoming "Who Wore It Better?" special, which will be being filed throughout the property,  and to win a $1,000 shopping spree at the Grove.

Trunk Shows

Designer Paige Novick is hosting a trunk show with pieces from her new fine jewelry collection Phyne by Paige Novick from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Saks Fifth Avenue, 9600 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills.

Valentino has reopened in a new space at South Coast Plaza. The new boutique is on the second level near the Jewel Court. It was designed by architect David Chipperfield in collaboration with Valentino's creative directors and includes luxe touches such as leather-lined dressing rooms.

Mr. Nail Lounge for Men has opened at 9005 Melrose Ave., West Hollywood. The lounge includes a selection of bourbon, rye and whiskey, and it's equipped with flat-screen TVs showing sports and other programming. Nail spa packages start at $27 for a manicure and hand massage, and go up to $107 for a luxury Black Card Treatment man/pedi with all the trimmings. Call (424) 302-0070 for an appointment Wednesday through Sunday. (The shop is closed Monday and Tuesday.)

Special promotions

In the spirit of Earth Day (which is Tuesday), Buffalo Exchange stores nationwide are having a Dollar Day sale on Saturday and pledged that all proceeds from $1 items will benefit the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson.
