OPI, Disney launch ‘Muppets Most Wanted’ nail lacquers

Share

In advance of the “Muppets Most Wanted,” which hits theaters March 21, L.A.-based OPI has announced a limited-edition collection of collaborative nail lacquers punnily named after (and ostensibly inspired by) the Disney movie.

Put aside for a minute that most of the felt folks (the Swedish Chef being a notable exception) couldn’t actually wear nail polish, and think of what it will sound like when someone asks about the sapphire blue hue of your fingernails and you respond with a chipper: “Oh, this? It’s Miss Piggy’s Big Number!”

There are eight shades on offer altogether; in addition to the aforementioned Big Number, you get all finger-Muppet with I Love Applause (a shade of pink), Let’s Do Anything We Want! (rose gold glitter with white confetti -- and apparently an exclamation point), Kermit Me to Speak (a color-shifting brownish mauve -- we’re not sure we should be upset or thankful it’s not a shade of green), Gaining Mole-mentum (shredded gold and chunky pink glitter with a dash of plot point), Int’l Crime Caper (an opalescent pearl), Chillin Like a Villain (a sheer nude) and Muppets World Tour (white quartz with colorful sparkle).

The colors, which are available at salons and retailers now, will run you $9 each.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, this isn’t the first time Kermit and company have been nailed by OPI. There was a holiday collection that dropped in November 2011, the same month in which “The Muppets” hit theaters.
