Suds & Shellfish: Catch restaurant in Santa Monica is hosting a one-day-only seafood fest called “Suds & Shellfish” on June 2 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The four-course menu will feature Maryland soft-shell crab rolls, Louisiana shrimp, Santa Barbara prawns and more. Tickets are $45 per person, bibs included, with beer pairings available for an additional $15 per person. Hot dog history: Historian and hot dog expert Bruce Kraig’s new book “Man Bites Dog” explores the history, culture and politics of hot dogs in America. ‘Collabrewtive’ brunch: On June 16 – Father’s Day – Firestone Walker Brewing and Food GPS will be rounding up local craft breweries, coffee roasters and chefs for a “Collabrewtive” brunch for dads at Lot 613 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Brewery-roaster duo stations featuring coffee-flavored beers will include Firestone Walker Brewing Co. and Intelligentsia Coffee; Golden Road Brewing and Handsome Coffee Roasters; Eagle Rock Brewery and Tierra Mia Coffee; Beachwood BBQ and Portola Coffee Lab; Cismontane Brewing and Caffe Luxxe; and Ladyface Ale and LAMILL Coffee. Six additional stations will be set up with food from Genevieve Gergis and Ori Menashe of Bestia; Daniel Mattern and Roxana Jullapat of Cooks County; Zoe Nathan of Huckleberry; Jason Travi of Littlefork; John Sedlar of Rivera; and Steve Samson and Zach Pollack of Sotto.
