L.A. Walks: Valhalla Memorial Park in North Hollywood

Valhalla Memorial Park

A walk through Valhalla Memorial Park in North Hollywood includes nature, the graves of such celebrities as Oliver Hardy and a memorial to pioneers of aviation. You could also traverse it playing “Pokémon Go,” as Dakota Rodriguez, 26, left, and Ryan Higginson, 25, did recently. “It is really nice to walk through here; there are really nice paths,” Rodriguez said.

Pioneers of aviation are memorialized at the Portal of the Folded Wings in Valhalla Memorial Park. The rotunda, built in 1924, originally was the cemetery’s front door.
