Graham Nash: Just a sale before he goes
Singer-songwriter Graham Nash and his wife, Susan, have listed their longtime Encino home for sale at $1.6 million.
The couple raised their three children in the house and now plan to live in Hawaii full time.
The Tudor house has formal living and dining rooms, leaded glass windows and skylights. There are six bedrooms, 61/2 bathrooms and more than 4,600 square feet of living space. The gated property includes a pool with spa.
Nash has used the home as a place to compose as well as a center for family life and entertaining. His favorite place to hang out is in the paneled den by the fireplace. He has written songs on the grand piano by the window in the living room and in the guesthouse, which includes a recording studio.
The two-time inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is on the road with Crosby, Stills & Nash for a U.S. Tour. He appeared on the “American Idol” Season 7 finale in 2008 singing his ‘70s hit “Teach Your Children.” Nash, 68, has published photography books of his own work.
The Nashes bought the house in 1986 for $900,000, according to public records.
Julie Jones of Sotheby’s International Realty’s Sunset office has the listing.
