Music industry executive Mark Mazzetti has sold his Hollywood Hills-area home for $1,089,000.

The property has a lagoon pool surrounded by lawn and palm trees on more than 1 acre. The midcentury house has a large living room with a fireplace, a wall of windows looking toward the swimming pool, two bedrooms and 1 3/4 bathrooms in 1,774 square feet of living space. It sits on a flat promontory with vertical drops on three sides and views of the Hollywood sign, the Griffith Observatory, the Palos Verdes Peninsula and the ocean.

Mazzetti has held executive positions at A&M Records and A&M/Polygram, among other record companies, and been a consultant and independent contractor to Universal Music Enterprises, Gateway Mastering, Rondor Music and Mattel. He has worked with and guided superstars including John Mayer, Sting, Janet Jackson and Amy Grant.

He purchased the home in 1992 from singer-songwriter Axl Rose of the band Guns N’ Roses for $640,000, according to public records.

The buyers this time were attorney Alan Hearty and his wife, Hilary, a finance executive who moonlights as a singer-songwriter and can continue the home’s musical line of ownership.
