2009 Dodge Journey

OVERVIEW
The crossover vehicle. In theory, it’s supposed to provide all-wheel-drive capability (good for towing and inclement weather) with the ingenious packaging and clever seating arrangements of minivans, while still remaining a convenient size. That’s what the Journey hopes to achieve.

Dodge hopes it will appeal to singles, young families and even empty-nesters (quite feasible that last one, since there’s little bending involved getting in and out). There are plenty of stowage and seating options, plus several engine choices--one being the Flexible Fuel Vehicle that can use E-85, so there’s another sector of society Dodge aims to please.

OUR TAKE
The Journey seems like it’s trying too hard to please everyone, with the possible exception of those with at least a modicum of aesthetic sophistication. In the attempt to be all things to all moms, there’s a danger it won’t blow anyone’s skirt up. Let’s see how much it costs before making a final judgment.
