Soap star Cameron Mathison and his wife, Vanessa, have bought a house near the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains for $1.672 million.
The Spanish Colonial Revival home, built in 1928, features a curving, decorative-tiled staircase, a step-down living room with trussed wood-beam ceiling and vintage tile, ironwork, wood and arches. The formal dining room is large enough to fit a 12-person table. There are four bedrooms, five bathrooms and nearly 3,700 square feet of living space. The site of less than half an acre includes a swimming pool and a rose garden with a fountain.
The Mathisons bought the house for use as a family home. They have moved seven times in 10 years and are ready to stay put.
“We are looking forward to living in this home for the next 30 years,” the couple said in an email.
Cameron Mathison, 42, has starred on “All My Children” since 1998. He made a recent appearance on “Desperate Housewives” and was on the fifth season of “Dancing With the Stars.” Vanessa Mathison is a former model.
Mark Ogden of Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agent and Jean Garr-Roddy of Podley Properties represented the Mathisons.
