“The Lincoln Lawyer”: In the April 10 Calendar section, a photo caption accompanying movie listings in The Guide identified the “Lincoln Lawyer” actor sitting next to Matthew McConaughey as Louis Roulet. The actor is Ryan Phillippe; Roulet is his character’s name.

Syria violence: An article in the April 11 Section A about clashes between Syrian security forces and anti-government protesters said that according to human rights groups, more than 300 people in Syria had been killed nationwide since unrest began almost a month ago. The correct number is more than 200 people.

Colombian oil: In the April 7 Business section, a photo accompanying an article about rising Colombian oil exports to the United States showed workers near a platform operated by oil company Ecopetrol outside Bogota. The caption erred in spelling it Bogata.

Colombian rubber: In the April 6 Business section, the caption with a photo accompanying an article about rising global demand for rubber from Colombia erred in saying a plant pathologist was standing before rubber tree saplings in a nursery. The plants shown were sugar cane.

Jose Arguelles: The obituary in the April 10 California section on Jose Arguelles, who conceived the 1987 event called the harmonic convergence, said he taught at Evergreen State University. It is Evergreen State College.

Sikhs attacked: An April 11 article in Section A about the shooting of two elderly Sikh neighbors in Elk Grove, Calif., last month said a cab driver who is also Sikh and who was beaten in November is from Elk Grove. The story failed to mention that the beating occurred in West Sacramento. Also, a caption with a photo of Bhagat Singh, 7, attending a memorial to honor the shooting victims, Surinder Singh and Gurmej Atwal, stated that the boy is the grandson of Surinder Singh. Bhagat Singh is Atwal’s grandson.

Arcadia Invitational: In some copies of the April 10 Sports section, an article about the Arcadia Invitational track and field meet said Agoura High hurdler Johnathan Cabral set national records in the 110- and 300-meter hurdles. His times were national bests this year for a high school athlete.

Prep sprint champion: Eric Sondheimer’s column in the April 8 Sports section, a profile of Covina High sprinter Remontay McClain, said no California prep athlete had swept the 100 and 200 sprints in consecutive years since 1918. McClain, the defending champion in both the 100- and 200-meter events, hopes to be the second male to do so. Randall Carroll of Los Angeles Cathedral High won both in 2008 and 2009.
