Bell election: In the March 10 LATExtra section, a photo caption that accompanied an article about the newly elected Bell City Council misidentified the subject in the photograph as Danny Harber. The photo showed incoming council member Ali Saleh, pictured above.

“Spooner”: A review of “Spooner” in the March 4 Calendar said that the film had no MPAA rating. The film is rated R for brief language and sexual content.

Larry Edmunds Bookshop: An article in the March 5 Calendar on Larry Edmunds Bookshop in Hollywood said the store was once owned by Milt Luboviski. Luboviski was a co-owner. His wife, Git, who is now known as Git Polin, co-owned the store for 55 years.

Kim Hill: The obituary in the March 9 LATExtra section of Kim Hill, whose childhood battle with leukemia was the catalyst for the creation of the first Ronald McDonald House in 1974, misspelled the name of the president and chief executive of Ronald McDonald House Charities. It is Marty Coyne, not Croyne.

Obama’s education push: In the March 9 Section A, the headline on an article about President Obama’s efforts to promote his ideas for education reform said Bill and Melinda Gates accompanied him on a visit to a pilot school in Boston. Although, as the article stated, Obama had enlisted the help of the couple in selling his strategy, Bill Gates did not attend the event. In addition, the Brookings Institution’s Brown Center on Education Policy was incorrectly referred to as the Brown Center on Education.

College football: An article in the March 9 Sports section on fathers and sons who have been head coaches in various sports said that Tommy Bowden, son of Bobby Bowden, had been fired as a head football coach in the Southeastern Conference. He was fired at Clemson, which is in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

College basketball: In the March 9 Sports section, an article about guards playing basketball in the Pacific 10 Conference said former Oregon player Aaron Brooks is now with the Memphis Grizzlies of the NBA. Brooks plays for the Phoenix Suns.

Travel prices: A Dec. 26 Travel section article about travel prices expected for this year misspelled the website FareCompare.com as FairCompare.com.

On the Spot: In the March 6 Travel section, the On the Spot column, about airline baggage fees, referred to Ryanair as a British-based company. It is based in Ireland.
