Conviction overturned: In Section A on March 16, an article about the overturning of a 1992 murder conviction after several witnesses recanted their identification of the defendant included a quote from the original prosecutor, Mary Ann Escalante, about one of those witnesses: “I believed him with all my heart.” The story should have made clear that Escalante’s comment referred to the witness’ original trial testimony, not his recantation.

Metrolink express: An article in the March 13 California section about Metrolink commuter rail express service scheduled to start in May between the Antelope Valley and downtown Los Angeles said the trains would run between Lancaster and Union Station. They will run between Palmdale and Union Station.

San Marino killing: In the March 16 LATExtra section, an article about Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter being charged in a 1985 killing said he had lived in a home once owned by Learned Hand. Hand was incorrectly described as a Supreme Court justice; he was a judge on the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
