Bruce Surtees: In the March 2 LATExtra section, a photo accompanying the obituary of cinematographer Bruce Surtees was described by the source, Getty Images, as showing him with Clint Eastwood during filming of “High Plains Drifter.” In fact, the man pictured with Eastwood was assistant director Jim Fargo. Surtees is shown above during the filming of “Coogan’s Bluff,” for which he was the camera operator.

Stew: In the March 7 Calendar section, an interview with the songwriter-musician Stew about what influenced his musical development misspelled the last name of Heidi Rodewald, his partner in the band Negro Problem, as Rodenwald.

Gay marriage: An article in the March 4 Section A about how personal stories have proven effective in winning approval for same-sex marriage said voters in North Carolina would decide on a gay marriage initiative in the fall. The election will be held May 8.

Robert Sherman: In the March 7 Section A, the obituary of songwriter Robert Sherman, who with his brother Richard wrote music for Disney films and other productions, said they won three Grammy Awards. In fact, they were nominated three times but won only once, for best original score written for a motion picture or television show, for “Mary Poppins.”
