Janet Napolitano: An article in the July 22 Section A about Janet Napolitano’s tenure as Arizona governor said Arizona legislators voted to freeze tuition for four years for students who began the 2007 school year at Arizona State University and the University of Arizona. In fact, the state board of regents voted in 2008 to limit tuition at Arizona State and guarantee rates at Northern Arizona University.

Safe-sex billboards: An article in the July 22 LATExtra section about South Los Angeles billboards urging gay men to get tested for HIV quoted the Rev. Eric P. Lee and identified him as president of the Greater Los Angeles chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. He is the former president and no longer speaks for the group.

“The Jack Benny Program”: The Classic Hollywood column in the July 22 Calendar section on the DVD release of “The Jack Benny Program: The Lost Episodes” identified the founder and president of the International Jack Benny Fan Club as Lauren Leff. Her name is Laura Leff.

Comic-Con charity: The photo caption accompanying a July 19 Calendar article on charity efforts at Comic-Con suggested that eight Kia vehicles are up for charity auction. Only the Kia that Jim Lee of DC Comics is unveiling in the photo is being auctioned for charity. The seven other vehicles are for display only.

Hermosa oil: An article in the July 22 Section A about a proposed oil drilling project in Hermosa Beach said the city reached a settlement agreement with Macpherson Oil in March. The settlement was announced in March 2012.

Military mansions: An article in the July 21 Section A about houses provided to U.S. generals and admirals misspelled Villa de Iorio, a house in Naples, Italy, leased by the Navy, as Villa de Lorio.
