LAPD officers secure the scene at Whitsett Avenue and Sylvan Street as they continued the search for a suspect near the temple in North Hollywood where two men were shot. While police initially said they were investigating the shooting as a hate crime, officials later said it's too early to tell whether the attack was motivated by religious hate.

Alexander Sisro carries on with his bar mitzvah at Adat Yeshurun Valley Sephardic Synagogue. He came to the temple Thursday morning ready for the ceremony -- only to find a line of police tape. For the family, it meant calling dozens of friends and relatives, some of whom had traveled from as far away as Argentina and Mexico, to alert them that the ceremony would be postponed. Eventually, it was rescheduled for the evening.
