• Ban caffeinated beer (SB 39, Padilla)

• Require natural gas utilities to install automatic, remotely controlled shutoff valves on pipelines (SB 216, Sen. Leland Yee, D-San Francisco)

• Change animal “pound” to “animal shelter” in state code (AB 1279, Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher, R-San Diego)

• Bring Arizona’s controversial anti-illegal-immigration law to California (AB 26, Assemblyman Tim Donnelly, R-San Bernardino)

• Impose a penny-per-ounce tax on sodas and other sweetened beverages (AB 669, Assemblyman William Monning, D-Carmel)

• Revise definition of olive oil (SB 818, Sen. Lois Wolk, D-Davis)
