Earthquake: 3.2 quake strikes near Ridgecrest, Calif.
A shallow magnitude 3.2 earthquake was reported Tuesday afternoon nine miles from Ridgecrest, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 3:49 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of five miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 48 miles from California City, Calif., 63 miles from Tehachapi, Calif., 67 miles from Barstow and 262 miles from Carson City, Nev.
In the past 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
