Earthquake: 3.3 quake strikes near East Quincy, California

A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Wednesday morning three miles from East Quincy, California, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 11:54 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 4.3 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 37 miles from Susanville, Calif., 39 miles from Magalia, Calif., 42 miles from Paradise, Calif. and 75 miles from Carson City, Nev.

In the last 10ten days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
