Brush fire burns near Stevenson Ranch amid heat wave
A brush fire was burning Monday in the Stevenson Ranch area as Southern California was hit by a new heat wave.
The Pico fire had burned more than five acres off Poe Parkway, officials said, but no structures were threatened as of early Monday afternoon.
Forecasts call for Southern California to see temperatures exceed 100 degree in some inland areas, with Wednesday expected to be the hottest day this week.
