5-ton crane removed from 101 Freeway; all lanes reopened
A 5-ton crane that fell onto the 101 Freeway on Friday morning has been removed and all lanes are open, the California Highway Patrol said.
Crews used other heavy equipment to remove the crane, which fell from a construction vehicle, blocking several lanes on the southbound side of the 101 near Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. The Sigalert was canceled around noon.
