Earthquake: 3.3 quake strikes near Aguanga, Calif.

A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Tuesday evening four miles from Aguanga, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 11:38 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 3.1 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 18 miles from Valle Vista, 19 miles from East Hemet, 20 miles from Temecula and 97 miles from Mexicali, Mexico.

In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
