Earthquake: 3.4 quake strikes near Perris

A shallow magnitude 3.4 earthquake was reported Sunday afternoon eight miles from Perris, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:04 p.m. PDT at a depth of 6.2 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was eight miles from both Menifee and San Jacinto.

In the last 10 days, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
