Video shows chaotic scene in club where 5 shot during Chris Brown show

A video taken inside a San Jose nightclub shows singer Chris Brown stopping his performance to point out a fight breaking out just as shots rang out early Sunday. Five people were injured in the incident.

In the video, a smiling Brown stops mid-performance to tell the crowd that a group was “getting down,” then at least three shots are fired. Brown’s security quickly shields the singer and ushers him out, and a crowd of people watching Brown scrambles to the ground.

The scene inside the Fiesta nightclub then becomes chaotic and it appears that people are trying to figure out what has happened when three more shots ring out.

At that point, the video shows women and men running, and others screaming.

Responding officers found four victims of gunshot wounds inside the club at about 1:20 a.m., according to the San Jose Police Department.

Those victims were taken to a local hospital, and a fifth person suffering from a gunshot wound walked into the hospital, police said.

Brown, who was not injured in the incident, had made an appearance at the nightclub in the 3800 block of Monterey Road for a VIP birthday event.

Police said they have detained several people as part of the investigation.
