Earthquake: 3.3 quake strikes in Kern County

A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Friday morning in northern Kern County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 7:40 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 2.5 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was about 12 miles south of Lake Isabella and about 25 miles north-northeast of Tehachapi.

In the last 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
