Video doesn’t clear Justin Bieber in speeding case, officials say

Justin Bieber’s legal team has turned over a security video from his Calabasas home that shows that the pop star got into the car to park it inside the garage the day he was accused of driving at freeway speeds through the private gated neighborhood.

They presented it as evidence that would exonerate Bieber, authorities said.

But Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials say the video shows the Ferrari in the driveway with another driver and Bieber getting off a motorcycle, then getting into the sports car and parking it. The video reveals nothing about the car’s drive around the neighborhood, authorities said.

Shortly after Bieber entered the garage, former USC and NFL star Keyshawn Johnson arrived to confront Bieber for allegedly speeding in local streets with children present.

Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said the security video from a camera on Bieber’s property doesn’t show what happened on the road outside. Contrary to the video, at least one eyewitness has identified Bieber as the driver who sped through the neighborhood. Whitmore said the decision whether to file a reckless driving charge against the pop star will be made by the district attorneys’ office.

Rapper Tyler the Creator has publicly said he was driving Bieber’s Ferrari.

Bieber has already drawn the ire of authorities and his neighbors.

Prosecutors are weighing whether to charge Bieber for battery for allegedly spitting on a neighbor in March after the neighbor complained about the singer and his entourage speeding through the neighborhood.

In November, Bieber was cited by police in West Hollywood for making an unsafe turn.

NFL Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson — also a Calabasas resident — took to Twitter to chastise Bieber.

“Hey @justinbieber I use to have a white Ferrari too, but I knew the speed limit in neighborhoods where kids played,” Dickerson tweeted.

“Just to be clear, I think @justinbieber is a talented young man. But as a parent of young kids the reckless driving concerns me.”
