The storm that moved through Southern California over the weekend is expected to bring a chance of rain and thunderstorms for some parts of Los Angeles on Monday, forecasters said.

Los Angeles and Orange counties, as well as the valleys and Inland Empire, will see temperatures in the high 60s to low 70s with a 30% chance of rain.

Beach communities can also expect cooler conditions, with temperatures up to 65 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will reach the low 50s in the mountains.

“The stuff that went through this weekend might be enough to get some rain in the northern slopes of Los Angeles and Ventura County mountains this afternoon,” said John Dumas, a meteorologist with the weather service in Oxnard. “There’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the interior areas and mountains.”

The cooler weather will clear out later in the week, as a storm that was expected to bring rain on Thursday moves farther north toward San Luis Obispo, Dumas said.

Above-average temperatures in the high 70s to low 80s are expected Saturday and Sunday, he said.

“It will get a little warmer and nicer in the next couple days,” Dumas said. “The weekend will be pretty nice.”
