Video captures police officer playing hopscotch with homeless girl
A video showing a Huntington Beach police officer playing a game of hopscotch with an 11-year-old homeless girl is capturing hearts online.

The short video was posted on the Huntington Beach Police Department Facebook page and shows Officer Zach Pricer partaking in a game of hopscotch with the girl.
On Wednesday morning, Officer Scott Marsh was out on patrol and checked on a suspicious occupied vehicle near Graham Street and Edinger Avenue, according to the online post. But upon closer inspection, he discovered that a mother and her 11-year-old daughter had been living out of their car.
While Marsh began making housing arrangements for the family with the department’s Homeless Task Force, Pricer arrived on scene. A video captured Pricer explaining the rules of the game on a sidewalk, etched in chalk with a hopscotch grid.
After going over the rules, Pricer deftly demonstrates how it’s played, drawing a giggle from the girl.
“Your feet touched the line, but I’m going to let you go because it’s your first time,” Pricer says after the girl’s first attempt through the grid. “I’ll give it to you.”
After her return hop back, Pricer greeted the girl with a high-five.
As of Thursday, the video has received more than 490,000 views and has been shared nearly 5,000 times.
