Authorities in Ventura County lifted mandatory evacuation orders in the Camarillo Springs area following an earlier announcement calling for residents of more than 120 homes in the path of possible debris flows to leave, sheriff’s officials said early Wednesday.

Residents of at least 124 homes on San Como Lane, Gita Avenue and Imato Lane were ordered to immediately evacuate about 12:30 a.m., Ventura County Sheriff’s Department officials said via the department's online emergency information site. By 3:15 a.m., the evacuation order for Camarillo Springs was ended.

Officials warned that rapidly changing conditions could produce a serious threat for residents in the areas.

Road closures were issued on Terrace Avenue, between Pleasant Valley Road and Berkshire Street, in Oxnard. Other closures include: Potrero Road between Cal State Channel Islands (Oxnard Street) and Rancho Dos Vientos, in unincorporated Camarillo; and along Pacific Coast Highway, between Las Posas Road and Yerba Buena.

A shelter was designated at Leisure Village Recreation Building, 1200 Leisure Village Drive in Camarillo.

The National Weather Service reported that Bell Canyon, near Simi Valley and bordering the northwest San Fernando Valley, had .71 inches of rain within 30 minutes.
