A 10-year-old boy who told Glendale police he couldn’t remember falling off his electric scooter Tuesday night was put in a medically induced coma after his condition worsened while en route to the hospital for evaluation.
The boy, who was not identified, was spotted by a resident lying next to his scooter in the 1900 block of Alpha Road. When officers arrived and started talking with the boy, they noticed a bump on the right side of his head, but he reportedly couldn’t remember what caused it, according to police.

The boy didn’t appear to have collided with a vehicle, Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.
As paramedics took the boy to Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center, his condition worsened to critical, police said. When arrived, he was reportedly put in the medically induced coma.
