Authorities found at least 17 items that appeared to be explosive devices at a Palms residence Wednesday, sources said.

No one was hurt as authorities cleared the area and took care of the devices.

Law enforcement sources said it was unclear what, if anything, was planned with the devices. A suspect, identified only as a 29-year-old man, was not believed to be part of a wider network or targeted plot.

Authorities booked him on suspicion of possessing an explosive device.

The sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak on the matter, stressed it was early in the investigation and that additional evidence could potentially point them in other directions.
