Military deaths

The Defense Department last week identified the following U.S. military personnel who died in Afghanistan and Iraq:

Francisco X. Aguila, 35, of Bayamon, Puerto Rico; corporal, Army. Aguila died of noncombat-related injuries Tuesday in Kabul, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 82nd Sustainment Brigade, 18th Airborne Corps at Ft. Bragg, N.C.

Michael J. Anaya, 23, of Crestview, Fla.; specialist, Army. Anaya was killed April 12 when a roadside bomb exploded near his vehicle in Baiji, Iraq, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

Edward W. Forrest Jr., 25, of St. Louis; sergeant, Army. Forrest was among five soldiers killed April 10 when a suicide bomber detonated a truck loaded with explosives at the entrance to a police headquarters in Mosul, Iraq, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Ft. Carson, Colo.

Bryce E. Gautier, 22, of Cypress; private, Army. Gautier was among five soldiers killed April 10 when a suicide bomber detonated a truck loaded with explosives at the entrance to a police headquarters in Mosul, Iraq, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Ft. Carson, Colo.

Bryan E. Hall, 32, of Elk Grove, Calif.; staff sergeant, Army. Hall was among five soldiers killed April 10 when a suicide bomber detonated a truck loaded with explosives at the entrance to a police headquarters in Mosul, Iraq, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Ft. Carson, Colo.

Raul Moncada, 29, of Madera, Calif.; sergeant, Army. Moncada was killed Monday when a roadside bomb exploded near his vehicle near Baghdad. He was assigned to the 563rd Military Police Company, 91st Military Police Battalion, 10th Sustainment Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) at Ft. Drum, N.Y.

Jason G. Pautsch, 20, of Davenport, Iowa; corporal, Army. Pautsch was among five soldiers killed April 10 when a suicide bomber detonated a truck loaded with explosives at the entrance to a police headquarters in Mosul, Iraq, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Ft. Carson, Colo.

Gary L. Woods Jr., 24, of Lebanon Junction, Ky.; staff sergeant, Army. Woods was among five soldiers killed April 10 when a suicide bomber detonated a truck loaded with explosives at the entrance to a police headquarters in Mosul, Iraq, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Ft. Carson, Colo.
