Calling all Will & Kate couples: Red Lion Hotel has a deal for you, royalty or not
Prince William and Catherine Middleton skipping Disneyland? It’s crushing to think that Britain’s hottest newlyweds won’t be doing the royal wave from “It’s a Small World” during their whirlwind visit to Southern California this weekend.
To commemorate the non-visit, Red Lion Hotel Anaheim near Disneyland will treat any married couple named William and Kate to a free stay this summer.
The deal: No fair running off to a courthouse to change your name to cash in on this deal. Only couples with passports or driver’s licenses, as well as marriage certificates bearing the first names William and Kate (or Catherine), qualify for three free nights at the hotel. Names must be spelled exactly that way, and they can’t be middle or third names.
When: The offer is good for stays through Aug. 28, but you must book by July 31.
The fine print: How much will those lucky couples save? I checked the hotel’s website for random weekends in July and August and found a nonsmoking room with a double bed going for $109 to $139 plus tax a night.
As part of the deal, the hotel is asking the Wills and Kates who do visit to drop the royal couple a note and fill them in on what they missed at the hotel and Disneyland. Really.
